For Parents
The "O24U" site is for kids and teens to find information just for them concerning lung health. "Little Lungs", coming soon, is for children ages 3-6.
Of particular importance is the All About Asthma section of O24U. Asthma is the number one chronic illness for children and the rates are growing. Many children with asthma can play sports and live the active lives they want, as long as their asthma is properly managed. Teaching your child to take their medicine regularly, monitor their own activities and recognize when an asthma episode may be happening can allow both you and your child to enjoy a full, active life without unnecessary worry.
We suggest you read through this All About Asthma section with your child and check with your doctor. We also have an asthma site written for adults - just click here and find out even more about asthma.
Here you and your child can also find out about Breath Games, C.H.A.M.P Camp for kids with asthma, and Kick Butts, our program for teens who want to put a stop to the tobacco industry's influence.
