This program gives youth the opportunity to earn a patch for learning about pollution and promoting clean air activities.? The goal of the program is to help young people understand that CLEAN AIR IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY.
The Clean Air Challenge teaches children to think critically, recognize the impact of the environment upon their health, and to communicate with others about the potential health threats of air pollution.? This program is designed to allow all children to participate and receive the Clean Air Patch. ? Youth discuss air pollution issues with their families and peers and decide on activities that they can do to clean up the air.? They must select and complete at least one activity to receive a Clean Air Patch.? After completing the activities, the troop leader or teacher fills out a simple report and activities form and sends this information to ALALAC.
The American Lung Association of Los Angeles County will supply all air quality brochures, posters, and patches.??? To participate one simple participation form needs to be printed, filled out, and mailed to ALALAC.

ALALAC will distribute Clean Air Patches upon receipt of the youth group's or class' completed participation form.
