The American Lung Association of Los Angeles County is seeking applicants in the following areas:

Environmental Health Program Manager:

Responsible for all aspects of environmental health program planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for staffing volunteer committees, developing and maintaining relationships with community agencies. Master preferred, but not required in Health Education, Environmental Health, Community or other behavior science related to Public health. 3-5 years experienced in a community-based or non-profit agency.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills, creative and professional demeanor with the ability to work independently as well as being a competent team member.

Salary commensurate with experience; plus benefit package.

Adult Lung Health Program Manager:

Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of all adult lung health programs. Represent the Association at various community events/activities related to lung health. Develop and maintain relationships with pulmonary rehabilitation centers and medical centers countywide. Master preferred, but not required in Health Education, Community Health, or other Behavioral science related to Public Health with emphasis on chronic diseases. 3-5 years experienced in a community-based organization, non-profit agency or other related experience or State Certified RRT with experience in curriculum development, program planning and evaluation.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Creative and professional with the ability to work independently as well as being a competent team member. Must have reliable transportation.

Children's Lung Health Program Manager:

Responsible for all aspects of pediatric asthma program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provide leadership for all activities to educate Los Angeles County's diverse populations about pediatric asthma, including programs, such as Open Airways for Schools, Asthma Camp, A is for Asthma and others. Responsible for managing data and materials for pediatric asthma programs including needs assessments and evaluation components that will provide guidance for future activities. To review and evaluate trends, new approaches and techniques being developed in relation to children lung health promotion and disease prevention. Maintain positive and Productive interactions with affiliated organizations, volunteers, existing staff and representatives of collaborating agencies. Represent the Association at various community coalitions as related to air quality and environmental justice. Masters preferred, but not required, in Health Education, Community Health, Environmental Health or other behavioral science related to Public Health. 3-5 years experience in a community-based, non-profit agency or other related experience.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills, creative and professional with the ability to work independently as well as being a competent team member.

Health Educator:

Responsible for facilitating training for volunteer health educators or program partners in the Association's core program following the "Train the Trainer Model." Implement, and teach programs targeting children with asthma and their families. Develop marketing materials, as needed; represent Association at various community meetings/activities. Must feel comfortable with public speaking and facilitating educational session for a range of audience. Bachelor Degree in Health Education, Community Health or other behavioral science related to Public Health. Relevant work experience preferred.

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will manage all the daily accounting needs of the Association. This business and accounting professional would handle our accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, maintain our general ledger through trial balance. Some experience with contracts and grants (mainly invoicing and internal audit) would be helpful. An accounting or business degree is highly desirable, as well as several years experience.
