Our Organization

The American Lung Association has established a tradition of excellence with over 80 years of service to Los Angeles County. ?Originally founded in 1904 as the National Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis, today the Association has expanded its mission to include the prevention and control of all lung disease. ?The association is currently very involved with anti-smoking initiatives, summer camps and educational programs for children with asthma, and advocacy efforts to support clean-air legislation.

The American Lung Association of Los Angeles County is one of 75 affiliates of the

national American Lung Association,
which is the oldest non-profit voluntary health agency in the country.
We are progressive in our response to new treatments, in our development of innovative programs and in our support of changing health issues and policies.
